Lost for words

I'm married.  For less than 24 hours.

I'm glad the ceremony is over.   It went well.  Just the county clerk, presiding over the ceremony, my elderly next door neighbor and a friend (both female), there as witnesses and iPhone photographers.

I was doing pretty well, until I looked over and saw tears streaming down my friend's cheeks.  She's a sentimental soul.  I kind of lost it and choked up while trying to read my vows, which were just really a rambling confession of how much more complete my life is with the Amigo in it.

Amigo didn't have anything prepared, but gave me an nice little off-the-cuff speech affirming his affection as well.

We had decided beforehand to give each other a peck and big hug at the ceremony, neither of us is big on Public Displays of Affection, however our iPhone photographers wouldn't have it, insisting on a longer snog so they could capture the moment.  I wish I could share the photos with you.  Amigo and I are in black suits, looking a little like Mormon Missionaries, well, Mormon elder Missionaries.

I feel relief, and I'm content.  Thank you for all of your nice comments on my previous entry.

Happy Holidays.

Jack and Amigo.

Color me surprised

So, I knew I was done with the hookup version of the blog, but I sort of thought I would keep up and check in every so often with details of my "dating" life, if you want to call it that.  It seemed that is was people wanted to hear about anyway, or at least it was/is the garnered the most comments.

So, the Amigo and I are still together.  Things are good relationship wise, but his struggles with school, immigration, and the limited work he can do, has him basically at the end of the road.

So, I had a decision to make.

There's one thing I could do that would allow him to stay, finish school, and start earning some money.

But, did I really want to take that step, or should I say plunge.

No, not really.  I never really saw the point of marriage, and if it were not for this predicament, I wouldn't really even consider it.

But......Here we are.

I want to give details, but then again I don't.  I will say, I had considered it for a long time.  It finally came down to the fact that I still want the Amigo in my life.  I feel like we aren't through yet, I don't know where the journey will end, but for now, I'm enjoying the journey, and I want it to continue, so there was only one option.

Wish me luck everyone.  I think the next time I blog, I will have a "husband."

Those are words I never thought I would speak!
