I thought the guy I was meeting was 37, which is young, but turns out I should have worn my glasses when I looked at his tiny grinrd profile stats. He's 31.
He's a Mormon guy. He's had a few boyfriends, and I spent the entire hour or so coffee date, fighting awkward pauses, and then asking him more questions about his life, family, interest, and past boyfriends.
He never asked one question about me or offered up any information, unless I prompted it from him.
My take?
He didn't know I was that old
(although my age, 50 is clearly on my profile), and just plain wasn't interested, or he's one of those boring uninterested, uninteresting guys, that make up so many gay dudes in my town/county/state/country/planet.
I wish he had opted for the blowjob swap instead of the coffee. At least he was medium handsome.
I'll take boring dull blow job any day over boring dull awkward conversation.
You're giving up after one coffee date?
ReplyDeleteActually, maybe you should. I wish I could say that most coffee dates go well, but for me they haven't. Most are "ok" and a few have been bad. Please notice that I didn't say anything about the good ones. I'm sure they exist, I'm just haven't experienced one yet.
How about turning a hook-up into a reverse date? Contact some of the guys who asked to see you again, and after you hook-up, ask if they want to grab a meal with you afterward.
How about turning a hook-up into a reverse date?
ReplyDeleteMakes sense to me and I can't help but believe some decent longer term relationships might have started that way. It's never happened with me. Nearly every guy I've hooked with has left right after orgasm never to be seen or heard from again.
pretty risky of him to be drinking coffee. Those modern Mormons! Where's the world headed?!!!
ReplyDeleteI know you're joking, but you're not far off the mark! When asked what he wanted at Starbucks, he said he was "pretty inexperienced when it came to coffee...." and the barista made him some kind of white vanilla cream drink, with no coffee in it what so ever. It looked horrible.
